Puget Sound Energy reported that about 2,600 Anacortes customers lost electricity at around 3:45 Saturday afternoon due to a downed power line in the downtown area. Power was restored to about 2,500 customers an hour later.
As of 11 pm, nearly 800 customers near 30th St and R Ave were without lights. PSE reported that another 77 customers around 10th St and N Ave. were still without lights as of 11 pm Saturday night. And, another 200-plus customers were without lights around Gibraltar Road on south Fidalgo Island.
The weather service was forecasting high winds overnight from the wind and west to southwest at 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. They predicted winds would ease by sunrise,
