Mayor Gere is appointing Don Measamer as Director of Planning, Community & Economic for the city, in essence, making permanent his interim appointment made last March with the departure of Ryan Larsen.

In her letter to the City Council requesting Measamer’s confirmation, Mayor Gere writes, “Mr. Measamer began working at the City in 1993 as a building inspector and has taken on significantly more responsibilities over the years. Mr. Measamer has the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to lead the department and assist the community.”

Measamer began working at the City in 1993 as a building inspector.

Mayor Gere has also decided to reorganize the duties of Human Resources Director Emily Schuh and, in fact, rename her department the Administrative Services Department.

In her letter to the Council, Mayor Gere points out that Schuh already is handling numerous duties, “In addition to her human resource and risk management responsibilities, Ms. Schuh manages our legislative priorities, manages the Public Defender and Prosecutor contracts, and assists me with day to day city management projects.” Schuh has been HR director since 2001.

The City Council Tuesday night confirmed the appointments and administration realignment.
