New paving work is scheduled for next week… this time along both northbound lanes of R ave., from the 22nd St roundabout south to 34th St. In addition, the city will repave a short segment of 30th St.
This is the second phase of the Q & R Avenue Paving Project and included road repairs and an asphalt overlay from 4th Street to 11th Street of “Q” Avenue, and an overlay to both northbound travel lanes of “R” Avenue from 22nd Street to 34th Street; road striping will follow.
Lakeside Industries will begin construction on Monday, August 18th and is anticipating the project to take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends if necessary.
Detours around this project may be in place at times, and there may be flagging, lane closures, and slower than normal traffic during construction.
The city will be installing a portable message sign near the HWY 20 northbound exit on R Avenue alerting of upcoming detours and possible road closures.
