For Skagit County Commissioner, Democrat Lisa Janicki is the clear leader with 2,415 votes, but two Republicans are in contention for the second spot going into the General Election. Kevin Loy has 901 votes and Patrick Hayden has 877 votes.
For PUD Commissioner, District 1, Al Littlefield is the clear leader with 2,141 votes. Votes are close for the second spot. Jason Easton has 1,528 votes to Greg Nelson’s 1,495 votes.
The Skagit Coroner’s spot has an interesting twist. Babetta Spinelli was the only candidate on the ballot. She said she decided to run because no one else had filed. Once it was too late to file, three other candidates announced write-in campaigns.
It looks like Daniel Dempsey could have the second spot going into the General Election. Spinelli has 9,810 votes; Dempsey has 591. The two other write-in candidates, Kenneth Clark and Scott Howe both have 258 votes.
