Paving work to continue

The project includes road repairs and an asphalt overlay from 4^th Street to 11^th Street of “Q” Avenue, and an overlay to both northbound travel lanes of “R” Avenue from 22^nd Street to 34^th Street; road striping will follow. 
 
Construction is expected to take approximately 3 weeks to complete. The exact dates of construction have not yet been established, but will occur between August 4^th & September 19^th.  Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends if necessary.  Detours around this project may be in place at times, and there may be flagging, lane closures, and slower than normal traffic during construction.
 
The city says it will be installing portable message signs on Q Avenue at 4^th Street and at the HWY 20 northbound exit on R Avenue alerting of upcoming detours and possible road closures.
