His new job will be just minutes from his home in Arlington, where he was a City Council member from 2002-2005. He has also worked as a senior planner for Snohomish County’s Planning and Development Services.
Mayor Laurie Gere said in a news release, “I thank him for his service…and wish him the best in his future endeavors.” His last day with the city will be March 21.
Gere said, “I am developing a succession plan by evaluating the needs of the city now and into the future.” She added, “Key projects including the development of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan and the 2036 Visioning Plan are under way.”
Gere said the city will take time to assess how best to serve the city’s community and economic development needs.
Larsen was hired by the city in Sept., 2008 and current earns $102,818.
