In an email sent to those who didn't get appointed to the committee, CAC Co-Chairs Jan Iversen and Paul Maughan said, "The many qualified candidates made our selection very difficult, but did enable us to choose eight members who represent our community well." The email added, "The Board will continue to hear from our District regarding a potential affiliation with a large health system."
The committee will especially focus on the topic of a potential affiliation with a large health system, according to a Sept. news release announcing the search for committee members. The search was extended once, apparently because of a lack of applicants.
The first meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 5pm. A second meeting has been tentatively set for Nov. 8, according to an earlier email.
Commissioner Iversen told the Anacortes American they were looking for as broad a demographic as possible.
