The mayor's letter to Kilburn said, "Through your ingenuity you gathered hundred of dollars in donated supplies to create craft projects and activities with children." Kilburn partnered with Eagle Scouts and high school art students, to get a lockable display case built and murals painted for the children's library, and a newly constructed picnic table outside the Teen Zone window.
Maxwell quoted commendations from supervisors...
- "She has a marvelous imaginatíon and sense of fun that inspires, entertains, and educates numerous children and their parents. On many occasions patrons have stopped to tell me how much they appreciate her."
