The deadline to drop your ballots in the ballot box behind the library is 8 pm Tuesday night. Mail-in ballots need to be postmarked today, which may mean getting the ballot into the mail Tuesday morning.
Geer and Gere are running against incumbent Mayor Dean Maxwell and businessman Mitch Everton in the primary. The top two vote-getters will move on to the November general election.
Also on the ballot...Four candidates for Hospital Commissioner, position 4, are Howard Pellett, Warren Tessler, Lynne Lang and Bruce Flanagan.
A proposal to raise the county sales tax by three-tenths of one percent is also on the ballot. The funds would cover the cost of building and operating a new county jail.
The first ballot count is expected some time after the 8 pm deadline.
