Daytime temperatures will climb into the 70s and 80s across much of the area today through this weekend. The hottest weather is expected Monday and Tuesday... when temperatures over the interior are forecast to climb into the mid 80s to lower 90s. Temperatures this warm will come close to or break the daily record.
Monday is expected to be the warmest day on the coast whereas the interior will probably experience its warmest day on Tuesday. After Tuesday... onshore flow will return to the entire area for a cooling trend.
Hot weather tends to lure many to area rivers and lakes. Please be aware that the water is too cold to swim in and river currents are strong this time of the year.
Those sensitive to heat spells... such as the elderly... and those working outdoors should be prepared for a period of hot weather.
