Scimitar Construction will begin excavation of a new single direction Americans with Disabilities Act ramps at the Northwest corner of the intersection of 5th Street and O Avenue. They will be identical to the ramps installed for the 6th Street project at 6th Street and O Avenue.
Additionally, the gas company has approved the replacement of a 16-foot wide section of old undulated concrete street across 5th Street, from ramp to ramp, to better the pedestrian\wheelchair-low visual access.
There will be a road closure that will block access westbound on 5th Street at O Avenue for approximately 5 to 7 days to allow cure time for the concrete before vehicles will be allowed to cross over it.
The work will begin on Wednesday, May 22nd and should be completed by no later than Friday, May 31st. More to follow on the schedule.
