Fire Chief Richard Curtis said the fire was confimed to what a company official described as the RTO room, where a scrubber which cools and captures fumes from cooking, then burns it, ended up catching fire.
A Trident crew was cleaning the room at the time the fire broke out. A small amount of black smoke was visible when the first fire crews arrived, according to Mike Noyes, with Fire District 11.
No one was injured and no one was treated by medics at the scene.
Anacortes Fire crews responded to the 11:45 am alarm at Trident, with one crew from District 11 (So. Fidalgo) as support. AFD had two pumpers and the ladder truck shown in the photo here.
