Collaborative might be the word to use for what Gere had to say. She said she wants to grow business in Anacortes, but she wants to do it smartly. She told the gathering that they are just the people to help plan the city's future.
A longtime resident of Anacortes, Gere has served as a member of the city Planning Commission for 19 years. She has a been a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, including two terms as its President.
Other candidates for Mayor include incumbent Dean Maxwell, businessman Mitch Everton, and City Council member Brian Geer.
