Skagit Regional Airport at Burlington recorded wind gusts as high as 43 miles per hour late Monday morning, with lesser gusts Monday afternoon. Whidbey Island recorded gusts to 56 miles per hour around mid-day. Gusts as high as 41 miles per hour were recorded at Friday Harbor airport.
The high winds also forced the postponement of an inspection of the Deception Pass bridge that had been set for Monday. The city of Oak Harbor wanted to inspect utilities that run under the bridge.
In addition, tree branches were blown off some trees at city parks.
