The Port has decided to dump the "Boat Haven" part of Cap Sante Boat Haven and go along with most of the public calls it: Cap Sante Marina. The Port Commissioners okayed the name change at a recent meeting.
Port staff was directed to make the change while minimizing costs. But, it may cost $500 to replace this sign at the entrance to Seafarers' Memorial Park. Other signs might be easy to change with a switch in vinyl letters.
Other changes at Cap Sante Marina include an expansion of wi-fi capability and newly-installed security cameras, both of which have been paid for by Homeland Security.
Along with the name change, the Port is hosting a logo design contest which is open to all ages. The port will award $100 worth of Port apparel. Get more information and an entry form from Ben Brannon, at 293-3134 or
