The Skagit River reached flood stage overnight, hitting 31 feet at Concrete late Sunday night. It has since fallen to under 27 feet. That's 3 feet above flood stage and some flooding was reported. The Skagit crested at 29.59 feet Monday morning in Mount Vernon. Flood stage is also 28 feet in Mount Vernon.
The weather service expected the Skagit to flood downriver from Mount Vernon all the way to the mouth of the river.
