New street work on Sixth St.

SRV Construction of Whidbey Island will pave and reconstruct portions of Sixth, including asphalt overlay between K and M Avenues, concrete stabilization from M to O, and construction of 4 new sidewalk ramps on the north side of Sixth St. at L and M. In addition, there will be new travel and parking lane delineation between K and M.

The asphalt overlay work is tentatively scheduled to begin next week with the road stabilization and sidewalk ramp construction soon to follow.

Because of the construction work taking place on 6th Street, all vehicular traffic will be detoured around the construction work areas. The detour route will utilize 8th Street to K Avenue, turn right on K Avenue to 6th Street, then left onto 6th Street.

Project Manager Steve Land said he intends to meet with each of the adjacent residents and property owners within the project area to address their questions and concerns.
