City Parks Director Gary Robinson said a $75,000 contract has been let for a 3,500 square foot area which will replace the current gravel surface with bricks. It's just the first phase of a larger project that Robinson said will be a great area for all sorts of public events.
That includes the possibility of showing movies outdoors in the summertime. The city has plans to show one film this August at Causland Park.
Meantime, the Farmers Market will shift locations a bit, moving onto the street fronting the Depot while construction of the new plaza gets under way
