Officials cut the ribbon on a new hoist on P/Q dock at the north end of Cap Sante Marina and owners of several small boats got in line to launch their boats. The new hoist and the new P/Q dock it sits on cost over $600,000, but will make launching small boats much easier.
Anacortes Small Boat Center President John Pope told a crowd of more than 50 people, “We can now tell small boaters from around the Pacific Northwest tht they can come here and sail, row and paddle with us, contributing to our local economy and to our quality of life.” He added, “We can now tell our fellow residents that the Port and the Community got it right, that the Port now has the ability and equipment to help get resident’s small boats on the water safely, cleanly and easily.”
