Ferry fares change this Sunday

]Washington State Ferries reminds customers of two fare changes that will go into effect on Sunday, Oct. 11. On that date, the peak season surcharge ends and a systemwide 2.5 percent fare increase goes into effect.

Per state tariff law, WSF implements a 25 percent peak season surcharge for full fare vehicle/driver tickets each year from May 1 until the second Sunday in October. On the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route passenger single fares increase 20 percent during the peak season and vehicle/driver fares increase 35 percent. Fares will return to the lower, non-peak season rates on Sunday, October 11.

Anacortes-Friday Harbor rates

For this route, the fares will rise from $9.85 Sun.-Tues. now, to $10.10 with the increase, and from $10.95 Wed.-Sat. to $11.20. The car and driver full fare rate goes from $34.15 Sun.-Tues. to $35.05 and from $37.90 Wed-Sat to $38.90. The multi-ride car and driver commuter card will go from $142.15 to $145.70.

Anacortes-Shaw & Orcas Is. rates

For this route, the fares will rise from $9.85 Sun.-Tues. now to $10.10 with the increase, and from $10.95 Wed.-Sat. to $11.20. The car and driver full fare rate goes from $28.75 Sun.-Tues. to $29.45 and from $31.90 Wed-Sat to $32.70.

Anacortes-Lopez Is. rates

For this route, the fares will rise from $9.85 Sun.-Tues. now to $10.10 with the increase, and from $10.95 Wed.-Sat. to $11.20. The car and driver full fare rate goes from $23.95 Sun.-Tues. to $24.55 and from $26.60 Wed-Sat to $27.25. The multi-ride car and driver commuter card will go from $99.75 to $102.20.
