Geppetto's to close

Owner Michael Magerkurth told the Anacortes American that the economy played a factor in his decision to close down. He noted that people are eating out less often, there are fewer catering jobs and weddings are being downsized.

Robert and Barbara Atterberry are planning to opcy Bob’s Chowder Bar at the same location. They will serve same chowder and salmon they’ve been selling at the Anacortes Farmers Market. They’ll add sandwiches and soups.

The couple owns Avenue Catering, based in Burlington, along with another couple.
