Homes continue to sell in Anacortes. The number of homes sold edged up in September over a year ago. Prices were also up, but homes took twice as long, on average, to sell.

We are having a nice rally in the Anacortes real estate market. There were 22 closed sales in Sept. of this year vs. only 20 last year.

The average selling price was $530,518 for last month, compared with $448,249 a year ago. The average selling price this year was skewed by two closings over $1 million. There have only been 5 closings over $1 million this year, so to see two of them occur in one month is very welcome!

Homes sold at an average of 93.74% of their last asking price, with an average length of time on the market of 214 days reflecting the soft market.

Last year, however, homes sold in an average of 100 days and properties sold at 97.3% of the last asking price.

Our market continues to perform better than much of Washington and our slowdown is caused by buyers being able to sell their homes so that they can purchase here in Anacortes.
