Fidalgo Bay Coffee is building a new coffee drive-through at the site of the old Chevron gas station at 12th & Commercial Ave. They plan to open on July 15.

This is a return to Anacortes for Fidalgo Bay. They started here in 1992 as Fidalgo Bay Roasting Company and had a store on Commercial Ave in downtown Anacortes. They closed the store a few years later to focus on wholesale beans and roasting.

Now, the company has decided to re-enter the retail market. Mark Evans, one of the owners, said they plan to open retail stores in several locations in the next six to eight months. “It’s certainly going to grow from there.”

The drive-through will offer all the their own coffees, teas and espressos, in addition to ice cream, milk shakes and a limited food menu. Customers will also be able to purchase Fidalgo Bay whole beans.

Tabith Bates will serve as manager. Look for a grand opening in August.
