Washington’s Lottery recognizes one outstanding retail partner in each of its five regions. At the conclusion of the fiscal year on June 30, 2013, the district sales representatives from each region, including Federal Way, Everett, Vancouver, Yakima and Spokane, are asked to nominate the Regional Retailer of the Year for their respective sales area.
Metrics including sales volume, sales growth, promotional support, point-of-sales presence and retailer driven sales initiatives are all taken into consideration for nominations, and helped determine Rosario’s Market as the award recipient.
Rosario’s Market, at 3101 Commercial Avenue in Anacortes, began selling Washington’s Lottery tickets on July 1, 1988. Rosario's Market has had a couple big wins throughout the years; a Mega Millions win worth $175,000 in 2005 and a Hit 5 win worth $150,000 in 2008.
For its recognition, Rosario’s is being awarded a cash prize of $500, an award plaque, gold banner and eight polo shirts all noting “Regional Retailer of the Year,” and an updated version of Washington’s Lottery jackpot technology system.
