Chamber director resigns

In a statement released on Monday, the Chamber Board said, "The board of directors thanks Mitch for his service to the chamber and wishes him the best as he moves into the next successful chapter of his career. "

The Board credits Mitch for improving the Chamber since he was hired during what the Board called "a challenging period." The Board's statement added, "Today, the chamber is financially stable and has 470 member businesses."

The Chamber of Commerce has been a voice for the Anacortes business community, "with many programs that promote tourism, governmental affairs, business-to-business networking and economic development programs such as the Anacortes Futures Project," according to the Board's statement.

The chamber manages the promotion of Anacortes tourism through the thousands of people who stop by the Visitor Information Center and through it successful “Coast In, Hang Out” marketing program which is featured in print, television and on the chamber website.
