Bellissima closed down early this weekposting a note on the front door that says, "We thank you for your support over the years." We have not been able to reach Marianne or Tyler since the closing. Calls to the restaurant go unanswered.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mitch Everton said he's hopeful another restaurant will go into the Bellissima space. "I find it hard to believe that a space already outfitted for a restaurant would not be interesting to another restaurateur," he said, adding, "It's a great location."
Cheesecake Creations, located just a couple blocks north of Bellissima, closed their doors recently. Their space will be taken by the folks at Cameron's Restaurant Living Room, further south on Commercial. Signs in the windows at the old Cheesecake Creations says the space will be called, "Cameron's to-go," featuring crepes and catering.
