Port of Anacortes Operations Director John Hachey says the Port and the management of the Anthony's chain have agreed to all the terms so that the chain can construct a 6,000 square foot building just south of the Cap Sante Marina office.
Hachey said he expects to have necessary contracts signed by the end of next week.
The restaurant, Hachey said, would include a heated, covered outdoor patio on the north side of the building with a deck on the south side. He said he expects the restaurant will be about the same size as the Anthony's Restaurant in Bellingham. Besides the Anthony's Restaurant in Bellingham, Anthony's operates a Hearthfire Grill there.
When the Port issued a call for proposals, it received two applications, neither of which, he said, met the Port's criteria. When the Port issued it's second call, only Anthony's replied.
So far, Anthony's has not commented on their plans. We'll let you know when they do, however.
