What started as a way to bring visitors to Anacortes during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival has turned into a 10-day series of events for the Anacortes Arts Festival.

This year they are celebrating their 3rd annual Art in Bloom lineup at the Depot Art Center in Anacortes, April 15 – 23. A Juried Exhibition featuring 30 regional fine artists opens April 15 at 6pm. An Evening of Color on Saturday, April 16, starting at 6pm is the Festivals annual auction event to support arts education in the Anacortes School District. This event will include both a live and silent auction of art items and creative experiences. Food trucks will provide unique appetizers , a bar will sell wine, beer and craft cocktails – and the frosting on the cake will be auctioned desserts from the community. Limited tickets are $50, available through the Festival website.

The ART OF SHOPPING is a NEW event on Sunday, April 17 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Geared toward women, it will include wearables, jewelry, accessories and hand crafted art – as well as art activities and tulips for sale. A mimosa bar (also offering champagne, wine & beer) will add to the fun of the event. There will be an hourly raffle that includes a variety of jewelry, art pieces and accessories. Admission is free with a suggested donation that helps support the Anacortes School District Cultural Arts Program. Doors open early for a Private Shopping Event from 10:00 – 11:00 am, where for $10, guests will be among the first to shop and be treated to free mimosas and a raffle ticket.
