Library's annual Valentine event coming up

Your enchanted evening starts the moment you enter the Library's front door; you will be greeted with a specially chosen glass of sparkling wine and beautiful acoustic guitar music, compliments of Mark Clawson.

You and your sweetheart then enter the main Library where you wander through the romantic atmosphere and enjoy various wine stations with savory pairings, all while listening to the Scot Ranney Trio.

Stop everything you’re doing as the beautiful baritone voice of Richard Riddell carries throughout the Library from the main staircase, serenading you with beautiful love songs from classic films past and present.

Glide up the main staircase, sit by the fire, and hear romantic poetry read to you by Professor Arthur Solomon. While listening to his lilting voice, sip specially selected dessert wine paired with luscious handmade chocolate truffles and almond toffee.

While sharing this very romantic evening, purchase your sweetheart raffle tickets for a chance to win two extraordinary raffle items that will be revealed during the event.

Your last stop is in the charming atmosphere of Nick’s Wine Café. Sit together and sip another glass of carefully chosen wine while awaiting the announcement of the raffle winners. During your time in the café, you are welcome to socialize with the other guests and learn from our wine expert, John O’Connell, the subtle nuances that make this year’s wine choices so delicious.

Treat your sweetheart -- or yourself -- to “AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER” and help support one of Anacortes’ greatest assets, our Library! This third annual “Love at the Library” fundraiser is sponsored by the Library Foundation to help the Library purchase needed resources and fund special projects for our Anacortes community.

Tickets are available for the Feb. 9 event at the Library at $50 per person. Buy now for a  gift that will do double duty for your sweetheart and your Library. And if you don't have a sweetheart, perhaps you will find one at "AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER."
