This half-marathon, 10k and 5K will take place on Saturday, July 31st. The Art Dash is a partnership between the Festival and City of AnacortesCity of Anacortes Parks & Recreation, with proceeds benefiting public art. Information is available at Parks & Rec phone: 360-293-1918.
The run starts at City Hall, follows the scenic Tommy Thompson Trail, and ends back at Arts at the Port at the Port of Anacortes warehouse. Awards for the 5k will take place at the Port of Anacortes warehouse (north end of Commercial Ave on the waterfront) at 10:00, the 10k at 10:30 and half marathon at 11:00. Results will be posted as soon as they are available. Complete results will be posted online at www.cityofanacortes.org under Parks & Recreation. Refreshments will be served at the Port.
It has become a tradition for Art Dash runners to be welcomed at the finish line by drumming. For the fourth year drummers from Shidaa led by Michael McLaskey and Joe Horsak will be on hand to encourage and entertain participants outside the Port warehouse.
