flavors, activities for kids, and demonstrating artists all fill out
the weekend.
Six blocks of juried booth artisans fill downtown Anacortes selling art in every form for every taste and every price range. The Port warehouse, at the north end of Commercial Ave., features a fine art exhibit.
Highlights:
- 250 Juried Street Artisans, 61 of them invited to participate – 10 blocks in downtown Anacortes
- Multiple Music Venues and evening concerts on the Pier featuring Blues, World Music, Rock, Celtic, Folk, Bluegrass, Jazz Musicians from Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles including The Paperboys, Little Bill and the Blue Notes, The Hot Club Sandwich, Kolvane, Alice Stuart & the Formerlys, Pearl Django, Reilly & Maloney, Los Pinquos, Fishtank Ensemble and more.
- Art at the Port Fine Art Exhibition includes a Biennial Invitational “The Arts: A Celebration” curated by Susan Parke, Director Emeritus, Museum of Northwest Art; featuring work from prominent northwest artists Keiko Hara, Susan Bennerstrom, Renee Rhodes, Sam McMillen, Anne Schreivogl, Joel Brock and Anita Mayer. The John L. Scott Focus Gallery features glass sculpture and painting by Shelley Muzylowski Allen.
- Experience Art Demonstration Area features weaving, painting, printmaking, woodturning, theatre, ceramics and native art.
- Youth Discovery Area combines creative activities for kids and the Interactive Tent where children can interface with artists through music, dance, storytelling, magic, drumming and theatre.
