The Guemes Island Ferry is back in operation after high winds along the Guemes Channel forced it to shut down for a couple of hours Monday. Due to the weather forecast, shut-downs later today may be necessary.

In the past week, one vehicle was stolen from the Guemes Ferry parking lot and another vandalized, in what could have been an attempt to steal it.

A 44-year-old Anacortes man was arrested on Thursday for investigation of possession of stolen firearms, and over 35 counts of illegal possession of firearm.
