The city has reached new three-year tentative agreements with unions representing the Police and Fire departments with wage hikes of 6 percent for firefighters and 7.5 percent for non-commissioned police officers.

Ana Anacortes resident was stung by a scam that didn’t involve the Internet when he responded to a letter telling him he had won a $1.5 million jackpot.  Instead of winning, he lost almost $5,000.

Anacortes Police cited a driver for driving under the influence, then three hours later, according to police, he found his car in a tow yard and drove off. Then, he was was cited for DUI again.
