High winds blew through Anacortes Saturday afternoon and evening, causing scattered power outages. The high wind seemed to peak around 3pm, with a gust of 37 miles per hour recorded at 2:50 pm at Skagit Airport in Burlington.

Shoppers were lined up at the Moondance Farms booth at Saturday's Farmers Market, the next-to-last of this season, despite a weather forecast that called for rain and wind. In fact, the day started out sunny with a temperature around 60 degrees.

Eragon, Paolini's first book, is also on the Children's list. And, The Art of Racing in the Rain, by Garth Stein, is on the Hardcover Fiction list again. This heartwarming book has been on the list for most of the summer.

Food Pavilion to offer wine & beer tasting
