First Friday Gallery Walk, which runs Friday from 6 - 9 pm, this month features an outstanding collection from Northwest Pastel Society members at Scott-Milo Gallery. The group's show includes landscapes, florals, still lifes and more.

The Dream Science Circus, a unique circus comedy show started in the Pacific Northwest, will be once again showing its wild mix of creative interactive theater, outrageous sketch comedy, and jaw-dropping acrobatics at the Depot Arts Center during the Arts Festival. 

The 47th annual Anacortes Arts Festival, which got off to a low-key start last weekend, springs into full bloom this Friday, Saturday & Saturday. Last weekend, the Festival staged the Art Dash, opened Art at the Port to the public, and started a series of concerts.

Featured speaker at this weekend’s Anacortes High School All-Class Reunion will be Jack Babcock, a member of the first class to graduate from Anacortes Senior High in 1932.

Five books by four authors are on this week's Northwest Bestseller's list. Two novels by J.A. Jance, a part-time Seattle resident, are on the list. Damage Control, her latest book set in Arizona and Justice Denied, her latest J.P. Beaumont book are on the list.

The City Council has taken the preliminary step toward lifting a cap on the amount of retail space which is allowed near the Fidalgo Bay waterfront.
