The City Council has voted to allow the city to set aside competitive bidding for a project that could cost as much as $1 million to repair a wastewater outfall in the Guemes Channel.

A 12-year-old at the Anacortes Middle School was discovered to be carrying a “Vape Pen” smoking device on campus that contained a small amount of marijuana.  

The city's once-a-decade Comrehensive Plan update, which is nearing completion, will provide the framework for how our neighborhoods, commercial districts, industrial areas, and public lands will develop in the coming years.
