A crew from Munson Boats rescued an unconscious young man in the water near Saddlebag Island on Thursday afternoon. The company was running sea trials on a new 34-foot landing craft in Padilla Bay when the person was spotted in the water at about 3pm.

The temporary span of the I-5 Skagit River bridge re-opened this morning after being closed since May 23 after the northernmost span fell into the river. The temporary span is narrower than the original span.
The temporary spans are in place; the bridge deck is paved. After touring the site Tuesday, Governor Jay Inslee announced that the Washington State Department of Transportation expects to reopen the Interstate 5 Skagit River Bridge sometime Wednesday, June 19.
