Police have arrested two men in connection with the vandalism of three Red Cross vehicles here. Under arrest are a 27-year old Anacortes man and a 25-year old Rockport man.

A new, richly-illustrated and well-researched volume chronicles the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, held in Seattle in 1909. The new book is Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, Washington's First World's Fair, by Alan J. Stein & Paula Becker.

City leaders toured the nearly-completed roundabout at Commercial Ave. and Hwy. 20 Friday morning, just hours before it was to be opened to traffic.

The National Weather Service says the hottest weather of the year is likely to occur this weekend and early next week. High temperatures will be in the 85 to 95 range. Overnight lows will be in the 60s. All areas of western Washington could be affected.

New asphalt was being laid this morning at the new roundabout under construction at Commercial Ave. and Hwy. 20. Work looks to be on track to open Friday evening, although not all work will be completed this week.
