City & Red Cross offer cooling centers

The Anacortes Library and the Senior Center are available as public cooling centers, according to a news release from the Mayor's office and the Red Cross. Both buildings are air conditioned and available for people of all ages.

Heat wave to continue

Had enough yet? The heat wave will continue this week, with Anacortes temperatures forecast to hit as high as 85 on Wednesday and a couple degrees cooler Tuesday and Thursday. The forecast calls for upper 70's by Friday.

Ross Candies at Dakota Creek

The 309-foot Ross Candies is being built at Dakota Creek Industries for Otto Candies of Des Allemands, LA. It is distinguished by it's heliport, 100-ton deck masts that rise far above the main deck.
