Anacortes Police and the Skagit Sheriff's Office arrested an Anacortes man for growing marijuana in the 1000 block of 15th St. Officers seized 32 adult marijuana plants, about 3.5 pounds of dried marijuana, a shotgun and $10,000 in cash.

Anacortes Police joined volunteers to help retrieve a sick horse from a ditch last week. The horse had fallen in a ditch in the 100 block of 41st St. on Friday, Oct. 8 and was unable to get up on his own.
