Anacortes Schools Foundation will offer a new program this summer that combines hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with active summer fun.  

The City Council has given the go ahead to sign an agreement with the Samish Indian Nation for city services on Samish property on Highway 20 once the property is off the tax rolls and in trust.

There were two Tommy Thompsons – father and son, and both have fascinating histories. Tommy Thompson (the father) was essentially the first American chemist to devote his major efforts to investigating the chemistry of sea water.

After being pressured by the City Council, Public Works Director Fred Buckenmeyer released a list of potential street maintenance work for the coming five years.

Celebrate 25 years of waterfront fun with sea shanties, fish mongers, boat rides, boat races and more, at the Anacortes Waterfront Festival this coming weekend.
