Police who responded to a report of a vehicle that spun out and raced away from Sharpes Corner located the vehicle later in town with a shredded front tire and heavy damage to the front and rear. The driver a minor faces DUI and hit-and-run charges.

Six state and local conservation groups have filed an appeal of Skagit County’s decision that could allow a proposed Shell Puget Sound Refinery crude-by-rail facility at March Point to move forward without requiring a full environmental review.
