The School District has announced new cancellations of student activities and community events. 

The Skagit County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday declared a public health emergency on COVID-19. This will allow Skagit County to take the immediate steps necessary to prepare and respond appropriately to this State outbreak. 

Despite nearly 90,000 infections worldwide (most of them in China), the world still doesn’t have a clear picture of some basic information about this outbreak.

Anacortes School Superintendent Mark Wenzel says district leadership is meeting regularly to address the coronavirus situation and develop plans in case of an outbreak. 

The city and the county say they have no reported cases of the Coronavirus. In an advisory issued on Monday, the city says the Anacortes Fire Department and the city administration are actively engaged with local partners.
