Proposed Event Center

City and Port officials have embraced the project proposal on an accelerated timeline and have scheduled a joint meeting of the Port Commission and City Council on Monday, March 25, at 5pm in the City Hall Council chambers, at which we will review the proposal, take public comment, and (hopefully) approve an agreement between the two entities to jointly fund conceptual design of a new facility. The City proposes to fund the project entirely with lodging tax funds, which can be spent only on tourist events and tourism-oriented facilities like we’ve proposed. We’re excited about this project!
