Small antique engines and machines will be popping up all over Anacortes as organizers of the Anacortes Antique Engine & Machinery Show gear up for their final show in September.

A reunion of students and others associated with the old Fidalgo School on March Point is being planned for July 27. The school, shown in this photo from about 1954, operated from about 1867 until 1957.

Property tax relief will be available to a greater number of seniors and permanently disabled citizens as a result of legislation passed recently in Olympia.

Anacortes city employees will receive a 2 percent discount on their health insurance premiums as a result of the city again earning a Well City Award.

Washington Department of Transportation says paving is complete on the SR 20 Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges two nights early! The remaining two nighttime full closures are canceled.  

Mayor Gere says the recently-passed 2-year state Transportation budget includes funding for extending the Guemes Channel Trail and improvements at Sharpes Corner, where the state has been planning a roundabout to replace the traffic signals.
