The traditional ribbon cutting at Tuesday's opening of the newly renovated Island Hospital. The renovations cost about $ 40 million and took more than two years to complete.

Ian Munce, a familiar face at City Hall for 27 years, has resigned as City Planning Director and City Attorney, effective at the end of July. Munce says he will take a job with the City of Tacoma.

Island Hospital is set to dedicate it’s new $40 million remodel and renovation with a public ceremony Tuesday evening at the new lobby entrance.

Peregrine falcons nesting on Mt. Erie have hatched two health chicks, according to Jon Lunsford, the manager of the Anacortes Forest Lands.
