Legislators call for task force to study coal export proposal

State Representatives Jeff Morris and Kris Lytton are calling on Gov. Chris Gregoire to establish a multi-agency task force to identify the statewide economic, transportation, and environmental impact of a proposed coal terminal near Bellingham.

Toxic algae blooms have cleared from Fidalgo Island lakes

The Health Department reports that Fidalgo Island lakes, including Pass and Campbell lakes, appear clear and free from blue green algae blooms.  The Toxic Algae Bloom Warning has been lifted from Pass Lake and the Caution from Campbell Lake based on visually clear water and sample results.
