Community Tree arrives

The Community Christmas Tree, a 30 foot hemlock, was cut Wednesday morning, then delivered and set up in front of the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce office Wednesday afternoon in anticipation of the annual tree lighting on Friday night.

The Chamber stressed that the tree is in a true sense a Community Tree. It was donated by Bill Wooding, although Bob and Barbara Atterberry donated a tree, which was split when it was cut.

Pioneer Tree Service cut and moved the tree to the Chamber office and set it into place.

The tree will be decorated over the next couple of days by Anacortes Construction Services, owned by Kathleen and Brian Johnson.

Tree lighting is set for 6pm Friday night. Santa will be there to help light the tree. There will be holiday music and kids will have a chance to have their picture taken with Santa.

The Holiday Gallery Walk is also Friday night, from 6 - 9pm.
