Beach Expo at Washington Park

This looks like it's going to be a good weekend to visit the beach. Visit the beach with WSU Beach Watchers. If you want to know more about the creatures that are revealed at low tide, then head out to Washington Park's Sunset Beach on Saturday.

Washington State University Beach Watcher volunteers will be hosting a beach expo and intertidal beach walk at Sunset Beach in Washington Park, from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday June 21.

Go check out the educational displays on local intertidal critters, algae, and other marine topics and join volunteer naturalists as they give a tour of the beach, introducing you to the amazing plants and animals that live in this often submerged habitat. Visitors will also learn about how to visit low tide areas without damaging them and about how they can help restore and preserve the Puget Sound’s environmental quality.

Skagit WSU Beach Watcher's online calendar has additional beach walks scheduled for this summer at Washington Park and Bay View State Park.
