2016 0218 robotic 600

Anacortes High School’s Robotics Club, Team 3238 the “Cyborg Ferrets,” has completed its robot for the 2016 Robotics Season.

This year’s robot must compete in a game, called Stronghold, to navigate a series of obstacles in order to launch foam balls into the opponent's base.

The team sent along what they called a "teaser" photo of a wrapped box, thus hiding the robot. They did also send this photo of the team.

Each year the team has six short weeks to design, build, program, and test an entirely new robot. The fruits of their labor this year will be on display at the Reveal Ceremony on February 26 in the Anacortes High School Cafeteria. The new robot and the story behind it will be presented by team members from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The Ferrets will be traveling to their first competition at Auburn High School on March 3rd through 5th. This will be their first opportunity to qualify for the District Championships in Portland later this year. There are high hopes for this year's robot.

“There is no reason we should not be able to exceed our past success” said Eliot Briefer, the subsystem manager of the team.

The team hopes to see you there next Friday.
